Noardling stands for Futureproof Water Technology: sustainable solutions for the entire water cycle, from water intake to wastewater treatment and from water transport to hydropower generation.
Under the name Noardling, we unite more than 250 years of experience of three strong brands: Desah, Hubert and Landustrie. Each with its own speciality, together strong in quality, innovation and craftsmanship.
We are proud of our heritage, but also focus on the future. Our technology is designed to last for generations and contribute to a circular world.

1880
Hubert's beginnings in Sneek
In 1880, Bolswar pioneer Wopke Hubert and Groningen adventurer Wessel Nieveen start the Hubert & Co machine factory in Sneek, in the Noorderhoek district. The pair immediately do good business producing their own steam boilers.
1913
The founders of Landustrie
In 1913, Hiltjo Wiert Bos laid the foundations for Landustrie by merging two companies: Het Landbouwhuis and Industria. Soon the company focused on polder drainage and traditional windmills were replaced by Archimedes screw pumps.
1950
Wastewater treatment takes big leap
After World War II, new systems in the field of wastewater treatment emerged in the Netherlands and the market lay open. Both Landustrie and Hubert successfully focused on designing and supplying equipment for sewage treatment plants.
1980
Hubert 100 years
Hubert is celebrating its 100th anniversary and is having a book published for this special occasion. The book will be presented at the farewell of then director, Mr Jellesma.
2005
The beginning of Desah
As a spin-off company from Wetsus, the company Desah starts up in 2005. Desah focuses on decentralised wastewater treatment and reuse of valuable raw materials. The photo shows one of the first projects in the Lemmerweg residential area in Sneek.
2010
Desah starts project Noorderhoek
In 2010, a total of 207 homes in the Sneker residential area Noorderhoek will have their waste water treated in a decentralised system. HRH Prince William of Orange performs the official opening here.
2013
Landustrie celebrates 100th anniversary
In 2013, all Landustrie employees will celebrate 100 years together. This will be celebrated proudly and grandly with special moments throughout the year.
2015
Hubert launches French collaboration
In 2015, Hubert entered into an agreement with French company REEL to supply drum screens. These large drum filters are used for the water intake systems at nuclear power plants. In 2018, they were installed at the Flamanville plant.
2021
Desah successful in Sweden
In Helsingborg, one of the fastest growing cities in Sweden, an innovative wastewater treatment plant is being built in the Oceanhamnen residential area with Desah. The emphasis is on recovering valuable raw materials as well as heat recovery.
2024
Merging three companies
Desah has been housed in the same premises as Landustrie on Pieter Zeemanstraat in Sneek since the company's inception. Hubert will move with all its staff and equipment to this location on the Houkesloot industrial estate in 2024.
2025
The start of Noardling
The three companies, Desah, Hubert and Landustrie have successfully merged in Sneek to form one entity from now on. The new name Noardling is a fact and is worn "grutsk". With more than 250 years of combined experience, we continue to build on our heritage.
